Paint And Pour Series | Wednesday, December 13th

unnamed (2).jpg

Valley Pike is pleased to announce the first workshop from our Paint and Pour Series! We wanted to kick this off with a piece of artwork created by you with Virginia in mind. With all our Virginia made products, Virginia wine/beer and Virginian made crafts from local artisans, is it any wonder that we would want our first Paint and Pour event to be Virginia themed? We love the Virginia mountains and all the beauty that the Valley has to offer. And we all know that home is where the heart is! So why not create that on a beautiful piece of art that you can hang in your home or give as a gift to someone special this Holiday season?

So how do we do that? By having the very talented ladies from K&E Paintings of course!. Erika and Kayla will show you step by step how to create your piece of art in this special workshop. For more information, please read below.

"Home Is Where The Heart Is"

"Home Is Where The Heart Is"

The process:

We will begin with using wood boards that need to be stained. 6 stains will be offered for you to choose from. You will then apply the stencils that they have created to your board. Once peeled off, the design will be revealed. We will then use chalk paint to paint in the design which is the state of Virginia. They will have over 10 chalk paints to choose from, so the color of the state can be any color you desire. Lastly, you will locate the spot where you reside on the state and paint a heart. They will also provide hanging wire and will help assemble the back for immediate hanging. This will complete your masterpiece!

Only 30 tickets will be sold for this workshop so get yours soon!   Tickets are available for purchase online at the link below. The cost is $65.00 per person, plus tax and a small online processing fee.

Ticket price covers all the supplies, hands on instruction from our artists and a glass of wine, beer or non alcoholic beverage from the coffee shop. As a courtesy to our artists, please make sure to be here 15 to 30 minutes early to grab your seat and drink! They will start at 6:00 PM.

A little bit about our artists:

She also owns her own photography company. Erika graduated from Bridgewater college and works as an elementary teacher in Winchester. Excited to see your creations and looking forward to seeing you there!

As part of our Tap Takeover Series, Valley Pike is pleased to host Three Notch'd Brewing Co. and Blue Toad Hard Cider on Thursday December 21st!  From 4-8 PM we will be featuring some of their best brews and tasty hard ciders downstairs in The Granary. Here is the Tap Lineup:

Blue Toad Hard Cider:

Harvest Fest -
Notes of clove, cinnamon and spices blend perfectly with this colder weather seasonal hard cider. Comments we have heard, “Autumn in my mouth”, “The Holidays in a glass”, try one and enjoy! (6.0%)

Rockfish Hard Amber -
Our Cidery sits on the shoreline of the South Fork of the Rockfish River here in the valley, hence the name. Bolder than many, more assertive than most! A fusion of tannic apple flavors derived from a blend of locally grown Red Delicious, Winesap Jonagold, and Gold Rush. A copper-colored cider with hints of caramel, molasses, butterscotch, and raisins. (5.5%) **GOLD MEDAL WINNER IN GLINTCAP** - 2nd Best in SHOW!

Three Notch'd Brewing Co:

“The Ghost of the 43rd” - American Pale Ale
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 35
With an ambush of dry-hops this crisp, refreshing, summertime beer goes down smooth with a soft, rounded out blend of Crystal, Simcoe, Citra and Cascade hops backed with a slight caramel sweetness. What sets this beer apart from other pales is the highly aggressive dry-hopping method using all 4 hops which gives the beer an exploding bouquet of fresh hop aroma and flavor without all the bitterness

"Minute Man” - New England IPA
ABV: 7.0% IBU: 20
Forget everything you know about IPA's! This unique and brand new style of IPAs has a super low bitterness, allowing the fresh fruity flavor and aroma of hops to completely dominate. This beer is unfiltered and unclarified, leaving the yeast to add to the smooth mouthfeel. The Galaxy, Mosaic and Idaho 7 hops make this beer super "juicy" and fruity with a strong, citrus bouquet aroma.

“Pomegranate” - Gose
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 8
Nothing says Autumn in Virginia like mild days and crisp nights. So we put that feeling in a can. This German sour ale becomes a fall favorite with the addition of the ancient flavors of pomegranate. Tartness from kettle souring with lactobacillus gives the beer the same dry crisp quality as those brisk nights. Fall never tasted so good!

And Last But Not Least...

"Biggie S’mores!!!”- Imperial Stout
ABV – 8.0% IBU - 40
This rich, creamy, imperial stout is made with 80 boxes of Honey Maid Graham Crackers. The special roasted barley used, gives the beer a rich, chocolate-y backing and the lactose gives the beer a sweet, smooth finish.

We will also have Musical Guest Todd Schlabach!

Todd has been performing for over 15 years. He is currently lighting up the solo music scene playing one of a kind instrumentals, originals and cover. Using every part of the guitar, a sampler and some effects a single guitar in Todds's hands sounds like multiple guitars overlaying each other. His music has been heard on 106.3 and on various stations along the East Coast.  With his notable fan fare, Todd's popularity and reputation has grown tremendously in the surrounding area.  Come out for a good time, great tunes and some awesome brews!!!
